| I just hope that this deal will be done and dusted before end of next week. I agree with Martin O'Neill that Barry is worth much more than £15mil but disagree that he's worth £20mil. Come on Liverpool, increase the sum to £18mil and seal the deal. Don't want to lose a class player to the other top teams. |

I don't really care whether Barry joins Liverpool or not.To me, he's a very good, versatile player and perhaps the most important factor is that he links up very well with Gerrard as being proven in the England formation.Maybe it's Gerrard himself that forcing the move to Rafa..who knows?? Personally, i think we have plenty of good players @ d centre of midfield already with Alonso,Mascherano,Lucas n even d new kid, Damien Plessi.Even Gerrard best position is in the middle.Seems like a little overcrowded there isn't it??With Masch seems untouchable as defensive midfielder, y add a new face to already "bloated" midfield? Unless Rafa want to use him as a right winger, our midfield is actually one of the strongest in BPL even without Barry. Then,y spent 15-20m 4 a central midfielder and use him as a right winger? Better use it for out n out proven winger like Simao or even Malouda?? N if Barry do arrive, i strongly believe there's a strong possibility of Alonso saying adios amigos to us!!Is Barry better than Alonso??Maybe, maybe not??1 thing 4 sure is that there won't be lack of big suitors for Alonso with Madrid,Milan etc already stating their interests..So I hope Rafa make the best decision for the club coz we only want Liverpool win d BPL next season. _________________ At the end of the storm, is a golden sky.. |

| Forget abt this deal. Its gone so sour that its not exciting anymore. The ones losing in this deal are Martin O'Neill and poor Gareth Barry. Liverpool can still carry on without Barry. No loss to Rafa. |

| I feel O'Neill behaved rather badly over this. He may well have felt that Liverpool were trying to entice Barry away, but it was well know he wanted the transfer. Unless Barry does move, there will be an unpleasant atmosphere hanging around, crowd support or not. |

| Glad this deal fell through and Alonso remains with the club. I do not see anything bigger or greater in Barry than Alonso, except he's English. Barry might be a little better in view of the new UEFA rules on foreign players for the Champions League. Liverpool are lucky to keep Alonso. Alongso is a real class and he has done a lot for Liverpool. Barry was overpriced by Villa. So let him stay in Mid-lands. |

Today game has proved me right about Barry and Alonso. Barry and his Villa team were ineffective and got beaten 5-0 easily by the Reds.
The good thing is that the title race is now on. |

| There's no point to sign this guy actually. No need to have him. Actually he's gone to Man City now. Good for Villa to have cash. |
